Story Behind "Two Wolves"

I wrote this song because I needed healing. ”Two Wolves” is about the the daily choice we have to shut the door on the anger, envy, inferiority and regret that rage within us. The desperation it sometimes takes to fight for joy, peace, love, empathy and truth. I’m the kind of person who can never seem to think positively about myself. Always listening to the toxic thoughts that run through my head. Never smart enough, never good enough, never capable. So I wrote this song as a way of reminding myself that there’s another voice inside that is good. William Blake said it best, “We become what we behold”. Don’t feed the lies friends.

Two Wolves Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Grave danger in my way
The rivers rise and I’m not safe
Two strangers fight for strength
One I feed the other waits

[Verse 2]
Back breaker, tough as chains
You took my blessing and my grace
Grave digger, forget my name
Don’t you take my soul away
Don’t you take my soul away

[Chorus]
Holy water
Change the blood inside me
Spirit of my body
Holy Fire
Feed the one that’s hungry
Teeth are sinking me
So I look to higher ground

[Verse 3]
Peacemaker, far away
Will you come my dying day
Cold shoulder, I feel the change
Burning through my veins

[Chorus]
Holy water
Change the blood inside me
Spirit of my body
Holy Fire
Feed the one that’s hungry
Teeth are sinking me

[Chorus
Holy water
Change the blood inside me
Spirit of my body
Holy Fire
Feed the one that’s hungry
Teeth are sinking me
So I look to higher ground
